Fleet Feet Albany & Malta is starting up a new in-person training program for those who are missing that personal connection in your running. 

 

Coach Mark Mindel, long-time half- and full-marathon coach at Fleet Feet Malta with 40+ years of experience, will be overseeing a program for 5K advanced, 10K, half- and full-marathon that will run from Sunday, May 9-Sunday, July 4. 

 

For many of us, the pandemic has led to inconsistency, as well as a lack of focus in our running. This program doesn’t have a specific goal race; instead, its intention is to establish consistent habits, greater fitness, and help you to develop your running to meet future goals however you may define them. The benefit of training with an experienced coach means that everything you do has a specific purpose. It’s a great feeling knowing that your training is always leading to progress. 

 

This training group will be based in the Malta area, meeting at such places as Shenantaha Creek Park, the Zim Smith Trail, and Saratoga State Park. In-person meetings will be on Sunday mornings at 8:00 AM and Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM. There is the strong possibility that on some Sunday mornings we will meet at 7:00 AM to beat the heat.

 

Training groups will also have access to our developing library of instructional videos which will be incorporated to enhance training.

 

A completed medical waiver will be required before undertaking either program.

 

Participants in the in-person program will still be required to socially distance and wear masks while running in close proximity to other runners. Participants will also be required to bring their own water. All of our social-distancing protocols are designed to keep you safe during a time of transition.

 

The in-person program will cost $100 for the session.
