Introduction to Running Winter 2020

Introduction to Running is a 5-week program for adults designed to help people who want to take the first step toward running for fun and fitness. It is intended for individuals who are currently inactive or casual walkers, who may or may not have done some beginner running in the past. The program will include a detailed daily plan over the 5 weeks with the goal of building the endurance and strength necessary to complete a run of at least one mile by the end, preparing you for the next step of training for your first 5K. Everyone will develop at their own pace with no judgement, just encouragement!

COST of the class is $25. Participants who complete the course will earn a $25 credit toward the Beginner 5K training program that follows.

Cost includes: 5-week training schedule, 2 coach-led group workouts per week, email access to the coach throughout the program, 10% discount at Pace Yourself Run Company (some restrictions apply), and tips and information about various topics associated with running, including stretching, running form, recovery, injury prevention, cross training, strength training, hydration, nutrition, gear, and apparel.

Program dates: Feb 10th - March 14th. Group training will meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm, Womble Park. (Baseball field parking off of Grigsby: 1201 Grigsby Avenue, Holly Springs.) Please direct any questions to the program coach, Dave Karls
