2019 Spring Raleigh/Morrisville- Half & Full Fast - PR Squad

The Fleet Feet Raleigh/Morrisville Marathon / Half Marathon Fast (PR Squad) program is an intermediate/advanced marathon training program sponsored by Brooks beginning on Jan 2nd.

The program is designed to train participants who have completed at least one race at their goal distance and would like to participate in intense group workouts designed to increase their endurance and speed at this distance.

We will train for 13 weeks on Tuesdays at 6 pm and Saturdays at 7:30 am (1/1-3/23).

Our goal race is Emerald Isle Marathon and Half marathon. Participants are encouraged to sign up for whatever half or full marathon they would like to run! If you are doing a race prior to the weekend of March 30th we will work with you individually to adjust your personal long run schedule to ensure you are ready for your race.

If you want to train hard to aim for a new PR, this program is for you! We'll meet as a  group on Tuesday evenings to complete various intense workouts meant to build your fitness toward race day; these include hill repeats, time-based intervals, and tempo runs. On Saturday mornings, we'll meet with a larger group for long runs designed to incorporate mileage at your race pace. You'll benefit from having the support of a dedicated group of fellow goal-chasers within a larger group of half and full marathon runners. We'll also discuss race fueling, pacing strategies, how to support your running with strength work and cross training, and much, much more!
