WalkFIT - Fall 2016
WalkFIT is a 10-week walking program designed specifically for those who want to take their first steps toward a more healthy, active lifestyle. No previous exercise experience is required! The program concludes with participants walking their first 5k (3.1 mile) race!
Regular exercise boosts energy, improves mood, reduces stress, improves sleep, improves flexibility and balance, increases bone mass and muscle mass, improves circulation, helps with weight management, and reduces risks of chronic disease. Q&A Sessions: Thurs 9/1 2016 at 5:30pm at Fleet Feet Sports Knoxville. This open-to-all discussion will be followed by a FREE Group Training Walk/Run at 6:00pm
Kick Off Week: Join us the week before the first training session to prepare for the program.
- Gear Up Night/Orientation, Tue September 13 at 6:30 PM (Earn 1.5x Personal Reward Points during Gear Up Night!)
- Good Form Walking Clinic, Thurs September 15 at 5:30 PM
Workouts: Tues and Thurs at 6:00 PM starting the week of September 19
Target Race: Hot to Trot 5k, Thanksgiving Day, Thur Nov 24
Cost: $85
Participants Receive: 10 week training plan, supportive and encouraging coaches, weekly coached practices, information sessions about nutrition, stretching, where to walk, and proper gear, weekly motivational and educational emails, instant friends and great camaraderie, team technical t-shirt
