Spring Trail Half Marathon Program 2026
Fleet Feet Chico Trail Training Program
It’s gritty. You’ll get dirty. You may even get muddy.
It’s hilly… and it’s AWESOME.
Our Trail Training Program is back for another incredible season! This unique program is designed specifically for trail runners — those who don’t shy away from rocky ravines, don’t mind splashing through creeks, and look forward to the spectacular views you can only find on the trails of Northern California.
Over the course of this 8-week program, we’ll explore new trails around the North State while building strength, endurance, and confidence on the trail.
Our goal race for the season is the Paiute Meadows Half Marathon Trail Run on May 9th in Susanville.
You’ll start the program running about 6 miles and gradually build up to 13 miles by race day.

Program Details
When you join the Trail Training Program, you’ll receive:
- Twice-weekly coached group runs
- A structured daily training plan for all 8 weeks
- Workshops on topics unique to trail running
- Field trips to some of the North State’s best trails
- Aid stations on select longer Saturday runs
- A supportive and motivating team environment
Our experienced coaching team will provide the tools, guidance, and encouragement you need to succeed. The team atmosphere is always positive, and you’ll meet other runners who love trail running just as much as you do.
No matter your pace, get ready to meet amazing coaches, inspiring mentors, and plenty of fellow trail-running fanatics.
Kickoff Run & Information Event
Saturday March 14th
Hooker Oak Park
Come meet the coaches, learn more about the program, and get geared up with the latest trail running equipment to start your training.
Bring a friend!
Meeting Times
Coached workouts will take place:
- Tuesdays — 6:15 PM
- Saturdays — 7:30 AM
Some Saturday runs will be destination runs on trails outside of Chico, so be prepared for a few short road trips.
Kickoff Run:
Saturday, March 14th at 7:30 AM
(Your kickoff meeting is also your first run!)
Program Requirements
This program is designed for experienced runners.
Participants must:
- Be injury-free at the start of the program
- Have completed a recent 10K and/or be able to run 6 miles
- Wear and carry appropriate trail running shoes, clothing, and hydration gear
- Be 18 years of age or older
These requirements help ensure the group can train safely and stay together during trail runs.
Carpooling to destination runs is encouraged.

- Program fee does not include race entry
- March 21st at midnight is the final day to withdraw and receive a refund
- Registrations are non-transferable
