Distance Training TAC Fall 2023

Our Distance Training Program is designed to help you set smart goals and have a plan to meet them. We will take the various skills of distance running and break them down into bite sized chunks. We have three training tracks within our group. Half Marathon Road, Full Marathon Road and 30K Trail. Each track will have a training plan for 5 days a week of running with 2 days of rest or cross training. This season we also are adding in a few optional yoga sessions to the training.

We will meet together on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm for skills-based workouts either at Fleet Feet or at the UPS track. On Saturdays, we will meet together at 8:00 am at Point Defiance Park. Road runners will hit the roads in the park, at Point Ruston and through the neighborhoods. Trail Runners will head out onto the beautiful trails.

This is a 12 week training plan for road.  Registering on this page will sign you up for the HALF marathon option. There are several fall races in our area, pick what works for you! We will train for Mud Mountain Half Marathon on 9/23/23, Portland Marathon (and half) on 10/1/23 and Defiance 50K (and 30K) on 10/15/23. If you have another race date on your schedule we are happy to help make some adjustments to the training plan.

Each participant will receive a weekly coaching email, a full training plan, 2 group runs per week, community Facebook group, and a really cool training shirt! We will also have 2-3 yoga sessions, several brand demo's and a Physical Therapy clinic. The ability to run 4-5 continuous miles is helpful to your participation for half marathon, and 7-9 miles for the full marathon and 30K distances.
