I would like to enter and participate in the Fleet Feet Running Club every Thursday at 6 pm, hosted, in part, by SJHORAN, INC. d/b/a Fleet Feet. In consideration of the Released Parties (defined herein) accepting this entry and allowing me to participate in the Event, I, the participant, for myself and my heirs, successors, and assigns, hereby waive, release, and forever discharge, Event Director, the participating Fleet Feet franchised business, Fleet Feet, Incorporated, and their affiliates, successors and assigns, shareholders, members, partners, officers, directors, managers, agents, employees, representatives, and volunteers (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from any and all responsibilities or liability arising from injuries or damages to me or my personal property resulting from my participation in the Fleet Feet Running Club. I agree not to file suit or grievance or make any claims against the Released Parties in any local, state, or federal court or administrative office on account of any injuries or damages covered herein. I acknowledge that Event Director reserves the right to change the details of, and amenities offered at, the Event at any time for any reason, and I hereby waive and release any claims that I may have as a result of any such change. I know that running activities through the Fleet Feet Running Club is a potentially hazardous activity with risk of bodily harm or death. I will not enter and run unless I am medically able to do so and properly trained. I voluntarily assume all risks of injury, death, or damages associated with participating in the Fleet Feet Running Club, including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, road hazards, vehicles, weather, traffic, and course conditions. I acknowledge that I know and understand all such risks. I agree to abide by all decisions of the Event Director or the Event Director’s representative relative to my ability to safely participate in the Fleet Feet Running Club. I certify as a material condition to my being permitted to participate in the Fleet Feet Running Club that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the completion of the Event and that a licensed medical doctor has verified my physical condition. I am aware that the COVID-19 pandemic creates additional risks of participation in the Fleet Feet Running Club. I acknowledge that by participating in the Fleet Feet Running Club, I risk exposure to the novel coronavirus and/or development of COVID-19. I acknowledge that I am voluntarily choosing to participate in the Fleet Feet Running Club and have considered those risks. I expressly and specifically assume such risks associated with the novel coronavirus and/or COVID-19, including any and all risk of injury, harm, or loss that may incur as a result of participating in the Fleet Feet Running Club. By signing this document, I certify that (1) I have not traveled out of the country or been in close contact with anyone who has traveled out of the country within the past 14 days; (2) I have not had close contact or cared for someone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days; (3) I have not experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms (cough, fever, headaches, muscle aches, rashes) in the last 14 days. I understand and agree that my participation in the Fleet Feet Running Club is a re-certification of the above statements and agree to respond to questions the day of the Fleet Feet Running Club if asked to do so to confirm the accuracy of my health condition. I agree that if any of these statements are not true and accurate as of the date of the Fleet Feet Running Club, I cannot and will not participate in or be present at the Event. I agree that I will follow the rules that the Event Director mandates for participation in the Fleet Feet Running Club, including, but not limited to, rules related to social distancing and provided amenities. I agree and acknowledge that no restrooms will be provided at the Fleet Feet Running Club. I agree and acknowledge that no food, water, or other beverage or snack will be provided at the Event. I agree and understand that I am solely responsible for bringing the supplies I may need to participate in the Fleet Feet Running Club. In the event of an illness, injury, or medical emergency arising during the event, I hereby authorize and give my consent for the Event Director and its designees to secure from any accredited hospital, clinic, and/ or physician any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care. I agree that I will be fully responsible for payment of any and all medical services and treatment rendered to me, including but not limited to, medical transport, medications, treatment, and hospitalization and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any liability associated with the treatment or related expenses. By submitting this entry, I acknowledge on behalf of myself, or the minors for which I am a parent or guardian, that I have read and agreed to the above release and waiver. In addition, if I am a parent or guardian, I accept full responsibility for the care and supervision of my child during the Fleet Feet Running Club. Further, I grant permission for the Released Parties to use or authorize others to use any photographs, motion pictures, video or sound recordings, and/or other records of my participation in the Event, including my name, picture, likeness, and image, for any legitimate purposes without remuneration to me.

In regards to COVID-19: It has been advised that a group can meet safely outdoors in smaller numbers. *All groups will remain outside and ask that everyone stays appropriately distanced. *Instead of leaving as one big group as we typically do, we will send off our runners in smaller groups as members arrive. *Runners will not be allowed inside Fleet Feet without wearing a mask and will only be allowed inside as in-store capacity allows. *We currently only have 1 public restroom (which is cleaned after every customer) and our fitting rooms are closed. Please plan accordingly. *All runners must provide his/her own water. *There will be no public storage for keys, purses, bags, etc. GENERAL RUNNING SAFETY (adapted from the RRCA) 1. Don't assume a driver sees you. In fact, imagine that a driver can't see you. 2. Always run on the left side of the road facing traffic. The best way to avoid an untimely meeting with a vehicle is to see it coming. 3. In busy areas, stay on sidewalks where possible. When running in large groups, it is much safer to be out of the way. 4. Run single file in congested areas or wherever there is oncoming traffic. Run no more than 2 by 2. 5. Respect a driver's right to the road. 6. Beware of stopped cars making a right hand turn. Either stop to wait for them to turn or go behind them. 7. Don’t challenge cars to a race. If you are both approaching an intersection, stop, let them go first. 8. Cross at cross walks or traffic signals whenever possible and look both ways before crossing. Obey traffic rules and signals. Runners, as pedestrians, are bound by traffic laws. 9. Use hand signals to show which way you plan to turn. 10. When using multi-use trails, follow the rules of the road. If you alter your direction, look over your should before crossing to avoid a potential collision with an oncoming cyclist or passing runner. 11. Always stay alert and aware of what’s going on around you. The more aware you are, the less vulnerable you are. 12. Use your ears as well as your eyes. Don’t wear headphones. 13. Carry identification or write your name, phone number, and blood type on the inside sole of your running shoe. Include any medical information. 14. Carry a cell phone. 15. Trust your intuition about a person or an area. React on your intuition and avoid a person or situation if you’re unsure. If something tells you a situation is not “right”, it isn’t. 16. Alter or vary your running route pattern; run in familiar areas if possible. In unfamiliar areas, such as while traveling, know where open businesses or stores are located in case of an emergency. 17. Run with a partner. 18. Write down or leave word of the direction of your run. Tell friends and family of your favorite running routes. 19. Avoid unpopulated areas, deserted streets, and overgrown trails. Avoid unlit areas, especially at night. Run clear of parked cars or bushes. 20. Ignore verbal harassment and do not verbally harass others. Use discretion in acknowledging strangers. Look directly at others and be observant, but keep your distance and keep moving. 21. Practice memorizing license tags or identifying characteristics of strangers. 22. Carry a noisemaker. Get training in self-defense. 23. If running when dark, reflective great is a must (reflective vest, blinking light and/or a headlamp are all good options.) Also, wear a headlamp so that YOU can see. 24. If you need to stop and tie your shoe, pull off to the side of the road and out of the way. 25. Be alert at all times. Be wary of “runner’s high,” fatigue, or any lapse of concentration. 26. CALL POLICE IMMEDIATELY if something happens to you or someone else, or you notice anyone out of the ordinary. It is important to report incidents immediately. 27. Not a rule of the road, but to keep you safe, carry hydration with you on your run.
