Fleet Feet Chico's Summer Walking Program -- 5K training
We are pleased to announce Fleet Feet Chico's Summer Walking Program is open for registration! This program is specifically designed for individuals who want to start an outdoor fitness program other then running or want to build up to running. It is also excellent for individuals who are taking a rest from running, and moms and dads - strollers are welcome so you can bring baby, if we are not on the trails. This program will focus on building mileage so that team members can walk a 5k and you'll have the camaraderie of others just like you. Get ready to be with a highly social and supportive team!
Program Information Meeting and Fun Walk: Kickoff meeting is Monday, June 28th at 6:15pm. Meet the coaches, get information about the program, and update your gear so you're ready to start your training. Bring a friend! We'll also take everyone out for a short walk so that you can see how the programs are structured. We'd love to have you and your walking buddies join so sign up early, limited to 30 walkers.
Meeting times: Weekly coached workouts will be on Mondays at 7:00am, Wednesdays at 6:15 PM and Saturdays at 7:30 AM at various locations around Chico. The first workout will be held at the time of the kickoff meeting, your first walk as a team!

Our supportive coaching team will provide you with the tools and training to be successful. The team atmosphere is always positive and you will meet others with the same aspirations as you. You may even meet a new best friend and walking buddy...it happens all the time in our training programs. Join the team and get ready to meet some pretty wonderful coaches and lots of other people who want to lead a life of fitness.
Requirements: You must be able to walk for 15 minutes and be healthy enough to start walking at least 15 minutes upon entering the program. By the end of the program, you will be walking for over an hour! If you have a medical condition that may be affected by exercise, or an injury going into the program, you should get clearance from your doctor before starting the program. Children 16 years and older may register with a participating adult.
Registration fee: Registration is $100.00 and includes your program shirt
