Louisville Distance Project: KDF Mini Marathon 2020 Virtual Training

The Louisville Distance Project (LDP) is the most comprehensive training program that Louisville has to offer. By partnering with local health and fitness professionals, product vendors, skillful coaches, LDP Mentors, and local race organizers, our program provides an unparalleled training experience. Whether you're a seasoned half-marathoner, marathoner, or looking to run the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon for the first time ever, this group is designed to help meet your needs as you crush your goals! Spring/summer VIRTUAL TRAINING starts on Monday, May 11th.  This group is open to runners and walkers of all paces. Our 15 week training program is specifically designed to fully prepare you to run the Kentucky Derby Festival Mini & Full Marathon HALF MARATHON, now a VIRTUAL RACE scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2020, but we can make training schedule adjustments to accommodate different goal races.

PROGRAM BENEFITS INCLUDE:

Weekly workouts with mapped courses (course available upon request)

Experienced Coaches to assist and guide you throughout the season

One workout per week focused on building speed and Vo2Max

Weekly training newsletters and a private Facebook community for participants

When available due to COVID-19 guidelines, vendor sponsored runs with tons of discounts and giveaways

Videos features local massage therapists, reflexoligists, chiropractors, physical therapists, personal trainers, and dietitians

Access to a virtual Injury Prevention clinic with a certified instructor

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THIS GROUP IS RIGHT FOR YOU? The training schedule begins at 3 miles for the KDF Mini Marathon, so if you can run, run/walk, or walk one of those distances to start, then you can participate in this group. If you can't, don't worry! We also have a 5k program as well. Immersion in a well established running community, better overall health, an improved sense of self-esteem and wellbeing, and an increased focus on your goals is what we provide.
