Fall Trail Half Marathon Program-

It's gritty. You will get dirty.. It's hilly.  You'll get in those "bonus miles". And, it's AWESOME.  We are offering one standard track for this  half marathon trail program group.  This is a unique training program specifically designed for trail runners; people who don't shy away from getting their running shoes dirty, enjoy the challenge of running the hills, who hanker for a glimpse of a coyote or an eagle, and who look forward to spectacular views you only find on trails around the area.  We will be taking the team on fun and challenging trails around the North State.  This 8 week program will target the Bizz Johnson 1/2 marathon in Susanville, Ca.  We'll start at 6 miles and work our way up to 14 miles, are you ready?!

*Lodging and race entries are not included in the program. 

Program Kickoff and Fun Run:  Saturday August 11th at 7:30am at Fleet Feet Sports.  Meet coach Brett Garrity and his mentors, get information about the program, and get geared up with the latest trail running gear to start your training. We will be going on your first workout run, so come prepared to run.  Bring a friend!  Please note that this is a very popular program and that space is limited to 50 people, so register early!!

  • Field trips to North State trails 
  • Friendship and camaraderie with fellow runners
  • Aid stations on some of the longer Saturday runs

Our supportive coaching team will provide you with the tools and training to be successful.  The team atmosphere is always positive and you will meet others who love running trail running as much as you do.  Whichever track you choose, get ready to meet some wonderful coaches, amazing mentors, and lots of other trail running fanatics!

Meeting times:  Weekly coached workouts will be on Tuesdays at 6:15 PM and Saturdays at 7:30 AM.  Be prepared for a couple of out town Saturday runs. The first official workout will also be your program kickoff, so come prepared to run!. Meeting locations will be scheduled by your coach, so wait for a weekly email from them.

Requirements:  This program is for runners who feel comfortable running on the trails and hills (remember this is targeting a trail half marathon).  Team members must start the program injury free, wear and carry appropriate trail running clothing, shoes, and gear.  Runners must be able to complete 60 minutes of trail running before signing up for the program. This ensures the coaches can keep the group together and safe.  We encourage team members to carpool to destination group runs.  All participants must be at least 18 years of age.

* No children or pets are allowed at the group runs

Goal Races:  We will be targeting the Bizz Johnson 1/2 Marathon in Susanville CA on October 5th and 6th, 2018.  I recommend finding lodging in the area as soon as you register for the race! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Shawna at shawna@fleetfeetchico.com

Registration fee:  Registration for these teams is $99 until Saturday, August 11th.  Late registration is $115 (August 11th - August 18th).  The program registration does not include race entry fees. Saturday, August 18th at midnight is the final day to drop from this program and receive a refund.  Programs are not transferable to a later date. 

Space is limited, only the first 50 people will be able to participate! - don't think about it, just do it!
