Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training session Information

Cost of Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training session is $125 and that includes 13 weeks of workouts (twice a week), newsletters, access to coaches, training plans for 10K and half marathon and more! We do require that all participants be 18 or older.  The Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training session will be training for the Blue Ridge Half Marathon and Star 10K!

Who is the Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training session for?

Any runner who wants group support during long runs. All participants must be able to maintain the pace of one of our pace groups and must be able to come to workouts able to run at least 5 miles for the 1/2 marathon and 3 miles for the 10K.

Where and when do workouts take place?

Workouts for Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training session take place at Reserve Avenue Fields North, across the street from Carilion Clinic- 3 Riverside. Thursday evening at 6:00pm and Saturday morning workouts start at 7:30am.

Anyone is welcome to TEST DRIVE a workout for free the first week of the session before signing up. Please check-in at the Fleet Feet Sports tent when you arrive.

How do I sign-up for Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training session?

Registration is available online at Fitvil.com under "Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training" - click the orange button the top right of the screen to register!

What are the Fleet Feet Sports 10k and Half Marathon Training session groups?

The pace groups include:

  • 10-11 minute per mile pace
  • 11-12 minute per mile pace
  • 12-13 minute per mile pace
  • Run/walk intervals
  • Walk (10K only)

If a participant cannot keep up with one of the pace groups, we will recommend that they switch pace groups or will be asked to consider joining the No Boundaries Running & Walking Session.

Are there any incentives?

Yearly Participant Alumni Discount: After a participant completes their first session of workouts, their subsequent sessions will be at a discounted price! 

Any rules?

  • All participants must have identification with emergency contact information on them at all workouts
  • Earphones are NOT allowed at workouts
  • Participants must stay with a Mentor at all times
  • Participants must wear reflective gear and light when warranted.
  • Participants must have a hydration system on/wearing at all workouts
  • Strollers are not allowed.
  • Animals are not allowed.

Do we do any races?

This session we are training for the Blue Ridge Marathon Series 10K and 1/2 Marathon on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

What does the cost of the program go towards?

Many people ask why we charge for our programs. The registration fees go towards coaching staff, equipment, insurance and part of the registration goes back to the City of Roanoke to help maintain the Greenways and facilities that we use.
