2017 Summer Speed Series
Ready to shift gears in your training? Get ready to get fast with our 6-Week Summer Speed Series!
The Summer Speed Series is designed to coach participants in:
- Increasing speed
- Improving form
- Developing core strength
- Overall body conditioning
Throughout the training we will challenge your legs as well as your heart and lungs as your push yourself to get faster, stronger, and more efficient. Prepare to be surprised by all that you can accomplish!
Who? Participants in the Summer Speed Series should be able to run 3 miles and be ready to push themselves in training. This program is truly designed for participants who are eager to take their training to the next level.
What? A series of coached track workouts, hill repeats, plyometrics, core workouts, form work, and strengthening exercises will enable you to improve your race time. This program will also help you to speed your recovery for distance running varying from the 5K on up to the Marathon.
Where? Hanes Park Track starting June 12th
When? Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30am - 6:40am at Hanes Park Track
How? Each participant needs to:
- Register for $75 (does not include race registration)
- Bring a water bottle, watch, and mat/towel to practice.
- Be prepared to work!
The summer speed series is a great way for folks of ALL abilities to get faster! Test your fitness at the end of the program by registering for the Beat the Heat 5K on Saturday, July 22nd!
